MBAs that pursue careers in the entertainment industry serve in functions that range from business development to marketing. The underlying thread is that all of these functions support the creative products within the entertainment industry, which include jobs in music, film, television, and sports. Having a keen passion for and a strong knowledge of the industry are keys to success. Pursuing this non-traditional route requires a very proactive and creative approach with regards to networking opportunities in the fall and winter. Recruiting for entertainment is not as structured as it is for such industries as finance and consulting and summer internships are usually not awarded until late spring.  Different companies that you can recruit into as an MBA include Disney, HBO, New York Times, Microsoft, and Facebook.
